OPG0007 also partners and supports local tourism companies that make efforts in environmental conservation. Some of the initiatives endeavoured by their partner companies are as follow:
- Conduct reef surveys, reef clean ups and have sponsored numerous charity auctions.
- Beach Club property and Hai Tide Huts are using a sophisticated wastewater treatment plant since the opening of the property. To preserve the limited supply of freshwater on Lembongan Island for the locals, a desalinator was installed for all its fresh water needs. It is our ambition to preserve this environment not only for future visitors but for the local people who live and work here every day.
- Launched an adopt a turtle program. The highly successful program centers around raising baby Olive Ridley turtles in a Western Bali based hatchery. The turtle species is listed on the international CITES group of endangered animals so it’s hoped that this project is able to assist in the future survival of this magnificent and important animal.
